A.C.E. Begins Fitness Initiative

In an effort to increase students’ physical activity, faculty, staff, and students have designated each Friday as “Fitness Friday.” During Fitness Friday, students participate in activities that build endurance, test strength, and increase physical activity. Friday, October 7, 2011, was ACE’s first “Fitness Friday.” Students went through a series of activities to set their baseline fitness data. A student’s baseline data included such items as jump rope jumps per minute, 1 mile time, push-ups per minute, and ball throw length. In addition, eye-hand coordination and motor skills were measured through the bean bag toss and the “drop the pin in the jar” activity. ACE invites the community and others out on Fridays to join in their “Fitness Friday” initiative.
